Myracle looked at Troy and giggled. “This is so ridiculous. I can’t believe we all just took a plane to Las Vegas and they're eloping.” Troy smiled at her laughing but failed to understand what was so amusing about it. October and Kristian were getting married. That fact was nice but not very funny.
“Oh shut up” October said pushing her sister. They stood at the counter of the hotel room waiting for Kristian to finalize their rooms.
“Ok, ok I’m done laughing.” Myracle said. “Oh hey I call dibs on telling mom you eloped.” Myracle said with a mocking smile. October shook her head and shrugged. October took a glance around and her eyes widened. Troy turned around to see what she was looking at.
“Oh my God! That is just perfect!! Look guys it’s a raffle for a free wedding!” October smiled. “We all have to enter. The more people entering the more of a chance we have!” Troy shook his head at the idea of entering his name for a free cheap wedding but knew he would do it.
“They’re announcing the winners tonight. Ok I’ll do it” Myracle said. Just then Kristian joined the crew and looked at the advertisement every one else was reading.
“Oh boy” he said. October turned to him and grabbed him by the collar. She kissed him and smiled with him. “Ok I’ll do it.” He said.
He threw a set of keys at Troy and Troy caught it. The keys said 403 on them were nice and gold. Troy pocketed the keys and picked up his and Myracle’s bags. They all headed to the table where the names would be entered and submitted their names. After which they all went for the elevators. Troy held onto the bags tight and wondered what was in them. He’d never admit to them being heavy but they weren’t light.
The elevator doors opened and they all stepped in. Neither of the twins carried bag but their purse while Kristian and Troy took on the loads. October and Kristian’s room was on the third floor while Troy and Myracle had a room on the fourth.
October and Kristian exited the elevator and promised to talk again later. The elevator doors closed and Myracle and Troy were alone. Myracle laid a hand on his arm and gave it a reassuring squeeze. He looked at her and smiled as the elevator doors opened.
“Oh how adorable!” an old woman screamed from the outside of the elevators. Troy stepped out of the elevator and Myracle followed. “I remember when Hector and I looked at each other like that. It was true love.” She said nodding her head. Standing next to her must be have been Hector because he replied “Yes well what I don’t recall from out relationship was a random old lady who stopped us to take a trip down memory lane. Let them be, please Meredith.”
“Fine, fine, fine. You kids be on your way!” she said and they entered the elevator. The old woman giggled while Hector wrapped his arms around her.
“That was sweet.” Myracle said to Troy when the doors finally closed.
“I want that to be us one day.” He said walking down the hall.
“Me too.” She said. Together they located room 403 and Troy used the key to open the door. Troy entered first and Myracle followed. She shut the door and Troy headed directly to the bed room. He threw the cases on the bed and then flopped onto the bed with them.
“Just like a man.” Myracle said shaking her head. “Carry them to a certain extent and then your job is over.” She said with a smile.
“Well maybe if YOU carried them you’d understand why I needed a moment to lie down.” He said.
“Oh shut up. You’re the manly man so manly men carry the luggage.” She said walking over to where he was lying. She stood tall over him and smiled down. “I’m tired to you know maybe I need to lie down.”
“Fine...” Troy said using one arm to throw all the bags off the bed. “Then lie.”
Myracle nodded her head and instead of climbing onto the available space on the bed she climbed right onto Troy. She reached his head and kissed his lips and he laughed. “What’s so funny?” she said.
“All that work to clear off the bed and you jump on top of me.” He said.
“Yup… You’re way more comfortable then any old bed.” Her smile was teasing and inviting. Troy loved this woman.

October stood in the crowd of couples that waited for the raffle winners. There was about ten couples waiting including October and Kristian and Troy and Myracle. October guessed that not many couples really wanted to elope. Two of the couples looked just about 18 while another couple looked like they were truly liquored up. Looking at these people for a split second October considered canceling it all. How could she elope?
Whether she wanted to admit it or not she wanted a nice wedding with all her family around. The idea of marrying Kristian was great and she waned to be married already but she suddenly wasn’t sure she wanted to get married like this. Maybe waiting wasn’t such a bad idea.
Just then the announcer screamed “Troy Bennet! Get up here!” October and Kristian looked at Troy and Myracle. Just then Myracle busted out laughing as Troy looked at her his hands on his hips.
Kristian shook his head and said “Get on that stage Troy Bennet.” October bit on her bottom lip and worked hard to hold in her laughter. Troy muttered something and walked to the stage. He stopped up the steps and continued to the host.
“Congratulations Troy Bennet! You have one a FREE Las Vegas wedding courtesy of the five star Casino and Hotel Casa De Jente. So who’s the lucky bride?” He said enthusiasm in his voice.
“Actually…” Troy said looking at Myracle “As of a couple of seconds ago I say the spot is open for vacancy!” He smiled and winked at Myracle.
“Hey!” Myracle screamed before running past the people and on to the stage.
“I’m kidding!” Troy said laughter in his voice as Myracle entered the stage and Troy took a step behind the host putting him between Myracle and Troy.
“So this is your woman huh?” The man said.
“Yes sir.” Troy said moving closer to Myracle and wrapping his arms around her in caution.
“Well then you’re a lucky man because she will make a beautiful bride when you guys get hitched. Good luck and enjoy your FREE wedding.” He said shaking Troy’s hand. Troy and Myracle were signaled to leave the stage where they followed a man who would clear their papers. Where they were to put their names they put October and Kristian’s. Within ten minutes everything was done and settled. The wedding would be tomorrow in the wedding chapel where they could pick a package and would be supplied with wardrobe.
Troy and Myracle returned to Kristian and October and told them when it would happen. “That’s great.” October said nibbling on her lip. October was going to get married tomorrow. She was happy, right? “Well guys its been a long day for me I’m going to turn in early and get some sleep.” October said. She wanted to sit in the tub of hot water and bubbled and actually think about this. She knew when you elope you weren’t supposed to think but just do it but she couldn’t help it. She was a psychiatrist so sue her if occasionally she thought bout things.
“Are you sure? We can spend the rest of the night in the casino gambling money away?” Kristian offered.
“Really no thanks. I’m tired I just want to sleep.” She said. Every one in the group nodded their heads and said their goodbyes. October began to walk away when Kristian grabbed her hand and pulled her to him. He hugged her close and kissed her tenderly.
“Don’t get cold feet on me baby” he whispered into her ear. October nodded her head and bit down on her lip. He let her go and she walked away. She continued through on her way to the elevator. She took it up to her third floor room and opened the door. She closed it and looked around the quiet and peaceful room. She walked towards the bedroom and opened the sliding doors.
The bed was neatly made and untouched. The suitcases were on the side and the clothes were already unpacked. October headed straight for the balcony where they had a view. She opened the sliding door and looked out at the third floor view. It wasn’t anything like the tenth floor or the fifteenth but it was a view and October appreciated the air.
“Can I marry him like this?” October said to herself.
******************************
Kristian put the key into the lock and opened the door. He closed it behind him and stumbled around as he walked into the room. Squinty he spotted the doors to the bed room. He headed for them and watched his careless steps. He’d gone to a bar with Troy to have a “bachelor party” while Myracle went up to her own room. Kristian opened the door and looked at the bed. He guessed the alcohol was getting to him because he saw two October’s in the one bed.
He crawled into bed and hugged her close. “When you see two Octobers you start to wonder where Myracle is.” He said in her ear. She moved around a bit making her body even closer to his. Even under the influence he loved this woman. She was amazing. Kristian closed his eyes and let his mind drift away.
The next time Kristian opened his eyes the sun was beaming though the balcony. Kristian moaned and rolled over. He reached for October but didn’t find her warmth on the bed. He looked around and realized he was alone in the big bedroom. Sitting up he rubbed his eyes and smacked his already thudding head. He wasn’t appreciating the noise his head was producing. Who ever made hangovers??
He moved slowly to get off the bed and walked towards the doors. He opened them and looked out at the room. Still there was no October. He reached into his pocket and checked his cell phone. He considered calling her but he knew it wouldn’t do any good to his head. Instead he headed to the shower wear he removed all his clothes and stood under the shower. The cold water cooled off his heated body and made his head feel better. Cold showers were better then hot ones.
Kristian walked out of the shower with a towel in hand and dried off his body. He threw on some clothes and grabbed the basic things. He stuffed them all into his pockets and held onto his cell phone. Finally he dialed October’s number.
“Hello?” she answered.
“Hey babe, what’s up? Where are you?” he asked her.
“Where do you think I am?! I’m down stairs flipping through these wedding packages. I’m close to picking on so be down here soon. Make sure you eat something. Remember we get married in three hours so be here on time!” she said her voice sounding happy.
Kristian smiled into the phone and said “I will. Talk to you soon.” With that he hung up.
Kristian was eager to marry October and he thought eloping was probably the best idea she ever had. Kristian wasn’t fond of the whole long ceremony anyway. Although the long ceremony would go better with the rents and probably make a better story he wanted to marry October no matter how they did it. Eloping or long ceremony he wanted to say to people that October was his wife. He wanted her to introduce herself as Mrs. Carter.
